The 'Shehyni' checkpoint is limiting exit from Ukraine for passenger cars

Starting from April 22, construction and reconstruction work will begin at the 'Shehyni' checkpoint in the Lviv region, which will limit the exit from Ukraine for passenger cars. This information is provided by the State Border Service.

It is noted that from April 22 at 10:00, repair work will commence, which will lead to restrictions on the exit for passenger vehicles. One of the exit lanes will not be operational, which may cause a traffic jam.

The State Border Service recommends that drivers plan their routes in advance and, if possible, choose less busy checkpoints such as Rava-Ruska, Hrushev, Ugryniv, Smilyntsya, and Nyzhankovychy.

The repair work is expected to be completed by around May 10.

Additionally, a new checkpoint 'Velyka Palad' - Nadyhodosh' has been opened at the border with Hungary. It is designated for vehicle and passenger communication. Up to 200 cars and 600 pedestrians will be able to cross through this checkpoint in a day. It is expected that over the year, the capacity of this checkpoint will be 73,000 passenger cars and 220,000 pedestrians.

Border guards have also reinforced the most vulnerable sections along the borders with Romania and Hungary.
