Japan agreed to provide Ukraine with satellite images.

Ukraine has gained historic access to satellite geospatial data from Japan. The Ukrainian military intelligence will now have the ability to receive radar images obtained through SAR technology. This became possible due to an agreement with the iQPS institute. This new level of access to high-tech satellite intelligence strengthens international cooperation in the defense sector.
Previously, Ukraine received SAR images from other countries such as Finland, Germany, and Italy. Now Japan has also joined this list. This is particularly important as access to France's optical satellites and commercial products from the Airbus Group cannot fully compensate for the loss of support from the US.
There is no operator in Europe that can provide a similar level of optical imagery available from the US.
In contrast, China has been providing Russia with geospatial data for its military purposes. China's support includes not only satellite imagery but also other materials for military cooperation between the countries.
Analysis
Ukraine has achieved a significant victory in satellite intelligence by signing an agreement with Japan. This will open new opportunities for Ukrainian military intelligence and strengthen international cooperation in the defense sector. However, it is necessary to continue looking for other sources and partners, as the US advantage in satellite intelligence is substantial.
