Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that Russian troops violated the 'Easter ceasefire' declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin more than 2,000 times in one day. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Russian army carried out 67 assault actions, mainly in the Pokrovsk direction.

'1355 Russian shellings, of which 713 were heavy weaponry, 673 uses of FPV by the Russians. In fact, on all main fronts, Russia did not adhere to its own promise of silence,' the president noted.

Zelensky emphasized that Russia has yet to respond to Ukraine's proposal for a complete ceasefire for 30 days starting from Easter. However, he proposed a new format for the ceasefire: Ukraine offers to refrain from any strikes with long-range drones and missiles on civilian infrastructure for at least 30 days, with the possibility of extension.

According to Zelensky, Russia's refusal of such a proposal will be evidence that it continues the war and destroys people's lives. Earlier, the Ukrainian side proposed to Russia to extend the ceasefire regime for 30 days, but no response was received. The U.S. State Department also supported the continuation of the ceasefire after Easter.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin had not instructed to extend the 'Easter ceasefire', which will last only until midnight on April 21. Zelensky reminded that Ukraine agreed to the U.S. proposal for a complete ceasefire for 30 days on March 11.
