The Ukrainian recording studio Tretyakoff production from Kyiv has been accused of voicing the film 'Minecraft: films' in Russian. This was reported by the Kyiv Creative Union of Voice Actors (KTSAD).

KTSAD has been trying to promote Ukrainian-language content and uphold professional values in the field of dubbing and voiceover since 2016. They also aim to ensure proper pricing and the development of professional skills of voice actors. However, their efforts face difficulties due to a lack of respect from some colleagues regarding the studio's work principles. Especially shocking in this situation is that this has happened during the fight for Ukrainian identity, culture, and language. KTSAD decided to publicly speak out about this negative incident, as it is very distressing for the entire team.

According to KTSAD, the Ukrainian actors who worked on the Russian dubbing of the film include Yevhen Synchukov, Borys Heorhiyivskyi, Ihor Askevych, Yuliya Malakhova, Lyudmyla Suslova, Natalia Kalyuzhna, Anastasія Gyrenkova, Oleksiy Semenov, Serhii Hutyka, Oleksandr Shevchuk, Rostyslav Holub, and Oleksandr Melnyk.

In connection with this, the Postmodern Production film studio decided to terminate cooperation with the actors who voice content in Russian. This was reported by the dubbing studio director Svitlana Shekera.

On social media, users actively express their outrage at the film being dubbed in Russian.

The film 'Minecraft' is an adventure film based on the popular video game of the same name. Filming took place in New Zealand from January to April 2024.

The plot of the film tells about four characters who have unsatisfactory lives. However, everything changes when they enter the Overworld through a mysterious portal. They become part of the living universe of Minecraft.

Analysis:

The dubbing of the American film 'Minecraft: films' in Russian by the Kyiv recording studio provokes a sharp reaction in Ukrainian society. Many social media users are outraged that Ukrainian actors were involved in this project. This also raises great concern among voice actors who strive to support Ukrainian-language content and proper pricing. The decision of the film studio to terminate cooperation with actors who dub films in Russian indicates the seriousness of this problem for Ukrainian culture.
