The summer period in Ukraine is often very hot, so many people turn on air conditioners. However, this can lead to an increase in the amounts on electricity bills.

How to avoid overpaying for electricity when using an air conditioner

According to DTEK, saving electricity can be achieved by setting the right temperature on the air conditioner. A temperature that is too low can lead to a significant increase in bills.

'The optimal temperature is 24-26 degrees Celsius. Each degree below 22 degrees Celsius adds up to 8% to the bill,' - explained DTEK.

Additionally, users who use air conditioners on hot days are advised to close curtains during the day and cover windows with special films. This will allow the room to heat up more slowly and the air conditioner to operate under less load.

One of the most common problems for air conditioners is clogged filters. It is recommended to clean them every month, as their dirtiness will result in the equipment working less efficiently and consuming more electricity.

From July, there were changes in the nominal voltage indicator in Ukraine. DTEK explained whether these changes will affect Ukrainians. It is also important to find out whether the electricity tariff will change from August 1.

During hot summer days, many people in Ukraine turn on air conditioners, which can lead to increased electricity bills. To save electricity, it is recommended to maintain a temperature of 24-26 degrees Celsius, as well as to keep the filters of air conditioners clean and properly insulate windows during heat. Additionally, it is essential to be attentive to changes in electricity tariffs and voltage in the networks that may occur.
