Zelensky revealed details of the meeting with the President of Italy in Rome.


The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited Rome, where he held a meeting with the Italian leader, Sergio Mattarella. One of the key topics of the negotiations was the sanctions pressure on Russia.
What Zelensky discussed with Mattarella
According to Zelensky, the conversation with Mattarella was 'good and important', and it reaffirmed the sincere friendship between Ukrainians and Italians.
'We discussed the return of Ukrainian children who were forcibly taken to Russia, European integration, sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, and the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the crimes of Russia against Ukraine.'
Zelensky also urged Italy to ratify the tribunal agreement regarding Russia so that it could start working as soon as possible.
Our President thanked Italy for hosting the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine and noted the willingness of the Italian business community to join the huge reconstruction process.
'The rebuilding of our country must also be its deep transformation.'
It is also worth mentioning that during his visit to Rome, Zelensky will have additional negotiations with U.S. representatives. Recently, there was also a meeting between Zelensky and the U.S. special representative in Rome.
During the negotiations in Rome, an important topic of sanctions against Russia was discussed, confirming the willingness of both countries to fight aggression and assist in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war events in the east of the country. Efforts for the deep transformation of Ukraine may be the key to the stable future of the country.
