Stole hundreds of thousands of hryvnias: PrivatBank customers sound the alarm over mass thefts.

PrivatBank customers in Kyiv and Odesa report fraud cases, resulting in large sums of money disappearing from their accounts. According to the report, mass unauthorized withdrawals violate bank transaction security rules and include debiting even blocked cards or amounts exceeding the limit.
One of the clients, Ruslan from the Dniprovskiy district of Kyiv, became a victim of more than 54 thousand hryvnias being debited from his account. In this case, initially, 6,502 hryvnias were withdrawn in six transactions, despite the set limit of 1,300 hryvnias. After this, Ruslan's credit limit sharply decreased to 3 hryvnias, with another 47,547 hryvnias taken by night debit from the account. An appeal to the bank yielded no results, and Ruslan not only did not get his money back but also became a debtor for the loan which needs to be returned with interest.
Another PrivatBank client from the Pechersk district of Kyiv suffered an even greater loss - a whole 294 thousand hryvnias disappeared from his card. The publication of this case on social networks revealed that similar incidents occurred with other people as well.
"PrivatBank didn't ask me for any confirmation data. Absolutely nothing. They just debited my funds for something unclear. Collectively, we now want to file a statement with the NBU, Ministry of Finance, police, and court," one of the victims shared.
Clients note that contacting PrivatBank does not help them receive protection and clarifications regarding the security of their funds. Their only option remains to reach out to the police, as the bank does not deal with solving such crimes.
It is worth noting that the victims are currently trying to recover their money, and also recommend each other to protect their personal data. They advise hiding the phone number used in banking applications and also use another number for work and public activity.
