Starting September 1, 2025, all school teachers in Ukraine will receive increased mandatory allowances to their salaries, which will amount to 2600 hryvnias, of which 2000 hryvnias will be 'net'. This new initiative aims to improve the financial situation of educational workers, who play a significant role in the development of education in the country. The increase in allowances is also due to the conditions of martial law, when stability in the field of education becomes extremely important. The amount of the allowance will depend on the teaching load, which will allow funds to be more fairly distributed among teachers. The new allowance conditions also envisage a separate calculation of the amount for each teacher, which will be transferred from the state budget to local budgets. Funding from the state budget The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine emphasized that the issue of teacher salaries is extremely complex, especially in wartime conditions, when a significant portion of state budget revenues comes from donor and partner assistance. Currently, the government allocates over UAH 103 billion for teacher salaries, which continue to rise, but this is considered insufficient. 'For all teachers in our schools - regardless of whether the community has funds or not. It (the allowance - ed.) is calculated separately for each teacher. And separately, it comes from the state budget to local budgets. New allowance conditions It is also worth noting that last year, at the initiative of the president, an additional UAH 12 billion was allocated for allowances to teachers working in wartime conditions. Starting this September, another distribution of funds is planned to provide increased payments to teachers. It is worth reminding that new mobilization rules have been introduced for teachers, where everyone will receive a deferment for the summer. The government of Ukraine is increasing mandatory allowances for teachers with the aim of improving their financial situation and creating a stable working environment in the education sector, especially under conditions of martial law in the country. A gradual increase in funding for teachers is planned to ensure them decent wages and support in difficult conditions.
