According to the NEC 'Ukrenergo', electricity consumption in most regions of Ukraine has decreased due to warming. As of 9:30 on Tuesday, January 7, electricity consumption was 5.5% lower than at the same Time on Monday, January 6. The increase in air temperature is the reason for this decrease.
On January 6, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 6.4% higher than the maximum of the previous working day - on Friday, January 3. This is explained by the lower air temperature compared to the end of last week.
Also, due to bad weather, 12 settlements were cut off from electricity in the morning: 10 in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and 2 in Cherkasy. Repair teams of the power distribution company are working on restoring the networks.
Electricity should be used sparingly during frosty weather to avoid shortages. 'Ukrenergo' reminds Ukrainians of simple recommendations to reduce the load on the energy system.
