Ukraine invested 1 trillion hryvnias in security and defense over seven months.

The Ministry of Finance reported that in January-July 2024, 1 trillion UAH was allocated to the security and defense sector, which amounts to 58.1% of all state budget expenditures.
In July, 161.6 billion UAH of this amount was used.
These funds were used for the following needs:
- financial support of soldiers, police officers, etc.;
- purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, protective equipment, and defense products;
- medical support;
- other expenses for organizations and formations related to security.
Security and defense remain the largest expenditure items of the state budget.
Military expenditures are financed by internal revenues and borrowings.
