Strike on Kharkiv: authorities reported on the consequences (updated).


In the evening of October 2, Kharkiv was attacked by Russian occupiers who launched guided aerial bombs. One of the bombs hit a five-story residential building, causing destruction and fire. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv RSA, Oleh Syniehubov.
“The enemy hit the five-story building between the third and fourth floors. At least 10 vehicles are burning. Rescuers are evacuating residents. The fire is being extinguished and the search for people continues”, the report said.
Currently, rescuers are working at the scene, evacuating residents of the building and extinguishing the fire.
According to the latest data, eight people have been injured, including a three-year-old child. Fortunately, the condition of all the injured is assessed as moderate and mild.
In addition, another guided aerial bomb hit a forest strip.
Later, the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, added that the evacuation of the residents of the building hit by the enemy KAB is underway, as well as the residents of neighboring buildings whose apartments were affected by the explosion.
All those wishing are provided with places in city dormitories. A point will be organized near the shelling site where local residents can have hot tea and a snack. The number of affected increased to ten people.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to Russia's attack on Kharkiv at 23:55. He published a video of the aftermath.
“Kharkiv, Saltivka, an ordinary residential building hit by a Russian bomb”, Zelensky reported.

“To stop such Russian strikes, Ukraine must receive the necessary and, most importantly, sufficient support from the world and its partners. Every leader knows what needs to be done. It's important to be decisive”, the president wrote.
