The Ukrainian Navy reported that Russia cannot secretly build new ammunition depots in the rear.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, commenting on information about the construction of such facilities near Novorossiysk.
"In fact, such facilities cannot be secretly built, and there are always quite extensive projects. They will try to distribute these depots into smaller ones, which increases the survival rate because they become more numerous and smaller in size. But this complicates logistics and lengthens it. If, for example, in the combat zone these field depots are generally expendable and are periodically destroyed, then from the front line they become larger" - he said.
Pletenchuk noted that Russians are drawing conclusions after drone strikes on depots deep in the rear.
"It's not worth underestimating them. It's important to remember that they have engineering units that are involved in construction, including railways. Therefore, they can quickly erect such facilities without additional procedures" - Pletenchuk said.
He emphasized that enemy military depots will always be of interest to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
