The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its position on peace initiatives
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has clearly defined its position regarding possible peace initiatives, in particular, responding to reports about the "peace plan" of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Ministry spokesperson Georgiy Tikhiy said during a briefing that Ukraine has standard procedures for achieving peace, such as the peace formula and the Summit process.
"We have a very clear, concise, simple position: there is a peace formula, there is a Summit process, interim meetings between them," Tikhiy stated. He also emphasized that all countries wishing to contribute to establishing a just and lasting peace can join this process.
The ministry spokesperson stressed that the process of achieving peace is inclusive and open to different positions. However, Ukraine has its principles that it upholds.
Tikhiy noted that the ministry closely monitors various peace initiatives and proposals. They communicate with partners and persuade them to join the peace formula process, where they will seek common positions.
Recall that on September 9, the Italian publication La Repubblica reported that Scholz is preparing a "peace plan" that may include territorial concessions from Ukraine.
