In Lutsk, a drunken 70-year-old man stole a car and caused an accident.


In Lutsk, a 70-year-old man under the influence of alcohol stole a Chevrolet Nubira and crashed into a concrete pole. He was hospitalized with injuries. According to Glavkom, this information was passed to the press service of the National Police on Sunday, February 23.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, February 22. A 35-year-old Lutsk resident contacted the police and reported that an unknown person hit him in the face, stole his Chevrolet Nubira, and drove off in the direction of Hlushets street.
Police established that a 70-year-old resident of Kovel, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, took possession of the victim's car, lost control while driving along Hlushets street, and collided with a concrete pole.
As a result of the accident, the offender sustained injuries and was taken to the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Investigators entered the data into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 289 (Illegal acquisition of a vehicle combined with violence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man faces imprisonment of up to eight years.
Earlier, in Kyiv, a Hyundai driver was detained for crashing into a shuttle bus and injuring his passenger.
It should be noted that on February 20, on one of the streets of Vasylkiv in Kyiv region, a 47-year-old Opel driver crashed into a shuttle bus.
The man tried to stop at a traffic light, but it turned out that the brake system was faulty. As a result, the car collided with a public transport stop and was then thrown back onto a Volkswagen taxi.
