Two Russian tankers 'Volgoneft' sink in the Black Sea: what is known.


Two Russian ships, 'Volgoneft 212' and 'Volgoneft 239', are sinking near the shore in the Kerch Strait. They have split in half and are leaking fuel oil into the water.

It was noted that one tanker with fuel oil is located eight kilometers offshore. There are four thousand tons of fuel on board. A large black spot has formed in the water.
Subsequently, it was reported that another tanker, 'Volgoneft 239', has begun to sink. There is currently no information about the cargo on this ship. The preliminary cause of the incident was a storm.
The Russian Ministry of Emergencies has already sent a helicopter and a rescue tug to the scene.
'Due to bad weather, the vessel 'Volgoneft 212' was damaged in the Kerch Strait. The crew asked for help. There are oil products on the ship, information about the spill is being clarified. Mi-8 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia with rescuers from 'Crimea-Saving' are flying to the scene. The tug 'Mercury' from the Marine Rescue Coordination Center of the Kerch Bay Kamysh-Burun has set out,' the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported.
Meanwhile, Russian Telegram channels report that one of the vessels has split in half.
