US President Donald Trump plans to hold a phone call on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He announced this on the social network Truthsocial.
The main topics of discussion will be the cessation of hostilities and trade. According to Trump, he wants to stop the 'bloody massacre' that claims the lives of more than 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers each week.
'I hope this will be a productive day, there will be a ceasefire, and this very brutal war, a war that should never have started, will come to an end,' Trump stated.
After the conversation with Putin, Trump intends to contact Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and later hold consultations with him and NATO representatives.
He also concluded his address with the words: 'God bless us all!'.
Earlier, Trump again threatened to impose sanctions against Russia and expressed his views on Zelensky and Putin.
The planned phone call between the presidents of the countries has raised significant interest worldwide. An important topic of discussion is the cessation of war and finding ways to achieve peace in the region.
