According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, tariffs for utilities have already increased by 18.6% from October 2023 to October 2024. The largest price increase occurred in the electricity sector, where prices rose by 63.6%. The cost of services for managing apartment buildings, maintaining housing, and waste disposal has also increased.
However, tariffs for water supply, sewage, natural gas, hot water, and heating remained unchanged.
The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine claims that the International Monetary Fund has not set any requirements for raising tariffs. Relevant obligations are absent in the new memorandum after the fifth review of the extended financing program.
Experts note that future changes in tariffs will be made taking into account the support of the most vulnerable segments of the population.
It is also worth mentioning that a member of parliament indicated a possible new price for electricity in Ukraine.
