EU Court rejects Ukraine's registration of trademark 'Russian warship ...'.

The European Union Court rejected the appeal of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine regarding the ban on the registration of the trademark 'Russian warship, id...'. According to the court's verdict, this phrase has become a political slogan and a symbol of Ukraine's struggle against Russian aggression, so it cannot be considered as an indication of the commercial origin of goods and services.
The history of attempts by the SBGS to register a trademark with a Russian ship in the EU
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine attempted to register this trademark in the European Union for various types of goods, such as clothing, printed products, and accessories. However, the European Intellectual Property Agency refused registration for moral reasons.
The SBGS appealed this decision to the EU instance, but the court rejected the appeal. An appeal can now be filed to the higher court instance.
