Fine 1000 hryvnias due to one "trifle": what drivers should not forget.

Ukraine has strengthened measures regarding the safety of two-wheeled vehicle drivers
New measures have been introduced in Ukraine to ensure the safety of scooter, moped, and motorcycle drivers. These types of transport often get into road accidents, and the drivers of these vehicles are particularly vulnerable in case of an accident. According to statistics, the head is the most vulnerable part of the body during a collision, so the use of a protective helmet becomes mandatory.
This information is provided by the publication "Khvylia", referring to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (CUAO) and the Rules of Road Traffic (RRT).
New fines for riding without a helmet
Starting from 2024, new fines for driving without a helmet have come into force in Ukraine. Currently, drivers who do not use protective equipment are required to pay a fine of 510 hryvnias, both for the driver and the passenger. If both road users do not use helmets, the fine is doubled and amounts to 1020 hryvnias. These measures are regulated by Article 121 Part 5 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and apply to all types of two-wheeled vehicles without exception.
Benefits of using a helmet
The use of a helmet not only helps to avoid fines but also has several significant advantages. In addition to protecting the head in case of a possible fall or collision, the helmet also protects the face from dust, insects, and adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, it significantly reduces noise levels, which is especially important during long trips.
It is also important to note that earlier drivers were explained how to use new roads with the sign "2 minus 1".
