The President of the USA, Donald Trump, ordered the release of 10,000 pages of documents regarding the murder of Senator Robert Kennedy in 1968. According to an article by 'Glavcom', this was reported by the Washington Post.

Most of the documents concern the investigation by the Los Angeles police, but the FBI also conducted its own inquiries.

These documents include FBI interviews with individuals who were at the 'Ambassador' hotel, where Kennedy was killed, as well as with those who were in the politician's room, including civil rights leader John Lewis, who was little informed about his presence on the day of the murder.

The documents also contain photographs of the body of the slain politician and handwritten pages from the assassin Sirhan Sirhan. The FBI was interested in why Kennedy went through the kitchen instead of to a scheduled press conference.

Additionally, the FBI was looking for a 'woman in a polka-dot dress', who was seen near Sirhan before the shooting.

It is noted that it is unclear what part of the information contained in these files had been previously disclosed. The Los Angeles police had already released their findings in 1988.

The Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, stated that during a search at the FBI and CIA, another 50,000 pages were found that had not been transferred to the National Archives. The government will work on their release, and the FBI and CIA will continue searching for new documents in state institutions.

Health Secretary Francis Kennedy Jr., the son of the murdered senator, confirmed that Trump asked him if he agreed to the release of these documents. The Secretary agreed.

Earlier, he expressed doubts about the guilt of Sirhan Sirhan, the Palestinian who was detained for killing his father.

Robert Kennedy was the seventh child in the Kennedy family and one of the younger brothers of assassinated President John Kennedy. During his brother’s presidency, he served as the Attorney General of the USA, and later became a senator from New York.

He was shot early in the morning on June 5, 1968, after his victory in the Democratic Party primary in California. It was believed that he had chances of becoming the President of the USA.

According to the case, Kennedy exited the ballroom of the 'Ambassador' hotel through the kitchen, where he was shot at close range.

Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian who emigrated to the USA from Jordan, was detained at the crime scene. He admitted to the attack, citing his support for Kennedy's policies towards Israel during the 1967 'Six-Day War' as his motivation.

In 1972, the California Supreme Court declared the death penalty unconstitutional and replaced all death sentences with life imprisonment.

Conspiracy theorists and the brothers of Kennedy have raised questions about the official version of the assassination. Many believe that Sirhan could not have shot from the position he was detained at.

Earlier, President Trump signed an order to declassify documents concerning the assassinations of John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

In 2024, a video recording showing John Kennedy's motorcade heading to the hospital after the shooting was sold.
