European leaders visited a Ukrainian restaurant

During their visit to Ukraine, Europe's political leaders tried dishes from Ukrainian cuisine, reports the publication 'Glavcom'. This was revealed by renowned restaurateur and expert in Ukrainian culinary art Yevhen Klopotenko.

Yesterday, May 10, the President of France Emmanuel Macron, Prime Ministers of Poland and Great Britain Donald Tusk and Keir Starmer, as well as Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, arrived in the capital of Ukraine by train.

According to Klopotenko, Macron tasted borscht and cabbage porridge, Starmer ordered syrniki, Tusk had halushky, and Merz opted for Lviv syrniki.

The menu included dishes such as syrniki with lekvar, pies with apples and cherries, cabbage porridge, Lviv syrniki, oven-baked borscht, halushky, palyushky, holubtsi, and Bukovynian filling.

The restaurateur emphasized that Ukrainian cuisine became yet another element in diplomatic negotiations, highlighting the importance of the gastronomic aspect in communication between countries.

Previously, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also visited a Crimean Tatar restaurant in Kyiv. It is also known that the day before, several other European leaders visited the Ukrainian capital as part of cooperation in the 'coalition of the willing'.
