Member of Parliament Serhiy Vlasenko is preparing a draft law that provides for the punishment of media and 'pseudo-journalists' for participation in crimes, including fraud through advertising and campaigning.
MP Vlasenko asks: 'And all those pseudo media and pseudo journalists who promoted this guy and asked and campaigned their trusting readers to pay (donate) him money, have they apologized for their complicity in robbing Ukrainians? Or are they still waiting for something?'The politician noted that his initiative will cover all cases where the media participated in the promotion of projects that turned out to be fraudulent schemes. In connection with the incident regarding fundraising by Nazar Hусаков, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a check of possible fraudulent actions, including the use of various financial institutions and services, will be conducted.
Considering the situation with the fundraising and Hусakov's departure abroad, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Social Policy to increase the transparency of charitable donations to prevent similar situations in the future.Vlasenko expressed an initiative for responsibility for media and journalists in case of their participation in crimes, emphasizing the importance of protection from any harmful activity that harms society.
