Despite public approval of the Russian invasion and performances before Russian invaders, they were allowed to perform in the UN hall. The founder of the 'Turetsky Choir,' Mikhail Turetsky, actively supports the war in Ukraine, calling it 'the battle of the Anglo-Saxons against the Slavs.'
Before the concert, the representative of Russia at the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, spoke about the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union to the victory in World War II. Despite this, Russian artists are not under sanctions and perform abroad.
On May 9, a military parade will take place in Moscow, for which representatives from various countries have already arrived. Ukrainian President Zelensky has maintained his position regarding the participation of foreign military personnel in the parade.
