The Russian army continues active hostilities in the southern direction, particularly in the Novopavlivka area, where the enemy is trying to break through towards the administrative border of three regions: Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk.

According to the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, enemy activity in the southern direction does not cease. The opponent is shelling with artillery, conducting kamikaze drone attacks, and airstrikes using various munitions. Occupants are also carrying out assault operations, especially in the Novopavlivka direction.

'In the Novopavlivka direction, a significant number of enemy assault infantry has been gathered. These are assault units from four Russian regiments trying to conduct assault operations in a very limited section of the front line,' Voloshyn explained.

According to him, Ukrainian forces are conducting maneuverable defense and inflicting significant losses on the enemy, with the number of dead and wounded among Russian troops amounting to about 150 people daily. During assaults, Russian troops actively use motorcycle equipment, which Ukrainian defenders successfully destroy.

Orikhiv Direction

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy is advancing in an attempt to break through the defense line and capture positions near the settlements of Stepove, Lobkove, and Mali Shcherbaky. One of the main goals is to establish fire control over logistics routes connecting Zaporizhzhia with eastern regions and to shell the city of Zaporizhzhia.

'The enemy is trying to seize these positions in order to be able to shell our logistics routes going from Zaporizhzhia to the east,' the spokesman noted.

It has been noted that the opponent is actively using kamikaze drones. Over the past day, more than 600 attacks with such drones and 300 launches using over 400 munitions have been recorded. The number of such attacks has recently increased by 20%.

In the fight in the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian forces are holding positions and inflicting significant losses on Russian occupiers trying to break through to Dnipropetrovsk region through the villages of Zeleny Pole, Vilne Pole, Novopil, and Novosilka.
