In Sumy, the fire was extinguished after an enemy missile strike
In Sumy, rescuers promptly intervened and managed to stop the spread of the fire that broke out after a missile strike on the morning of August 17. According to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Sumy region, the fire engulfed 10 vehicles located near a residential building. Rescuers managed to deal with the fire outbreaks and save other vehicles.
After the strike, rescuers inspected the area and discovered damage to buildings and broken glass. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, although two people sustained minor injuries.
«The rescuers managed to extinguish the identified fire outbreaks and prevent the fire from spreading to other vehicles», reports the Main Department of the SES in the Sumy region.
It is worth noting that this is not the only case of aggression against Ukraine. Russian invaders also attacked critical infrastructure facilities in the Kherson region, fired at educational institutions and homes. As a result of these attacks, six people were injured, including one child.
Additionally, as reported, on the night of August 17 and in the morning, the Russian army attacked the Kyiv region using drones. Thanks to the air defense forces, enemy targets were shot down.
