Missing during combat operations in Donetsk. Let's remember Viktor Savonik.


Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Viktor Savonik.
On June 10, 2024, Viktor did not return to his positions during a combat mission in the Donetsk direction and was considered missing. On March 24, 2025, DNA testing confirmed that the body evacuated from the battlefield belonged to him. This information was reported by the local news portal 'Glavkom', citing the Rivne City Council.
Viktor was born on January 30, 1972, in the village of Tuchin, Hoshchansky district. He studied at Tuchin Secondary School and Ivan Franko College of Physical Culture. He obtained a higher education at the Private Educational Institution 'International Economic and Humanitarian University named after Academician Stepan Demyanchuk'.
Viktor worked as a physical education and sports teacher, as well as a volleyball coach at the Higher Vocational School No. 1 in Rivne. He served in the National Guard of Ukraine from 1990 to 1992.
On February 28, 2022, Viktor voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He chose this path because he was physically prepared and had a strong spirit. He was a professional volleyball player and a great sports enthusiast. In his free Time, Viktor loved to walk in the forest, gather mushrooms, drive around the city, and go fishing.

The farewell to Viktor took place on April 24 at the Independence Square in Rivne, and he was buried at the 'Nove' cemetery.

We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the fight for the Fatherland. We light candles of remembrance and bow our heads during the nationwide minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who perished in the struggle against the Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack by hostile forces on Ukrainian cities and villages.
