Romanenko's Plan: How to Use Energy for the De-occupation of Transnistria.

The Ukrainian political expert proposes a plan for economic integration of Transnistria
Political expert Yuriy Romanenko suggests joint work between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania in the energy sector to ensure the economic integration of Transnistria. He notes that Ukraine has excess coal, while Moldova has natural gas reserves. Transnistria, in turn, has highly efficient energy blocks that provide cheap electricity.
'This is the perfect moment to offer them gas for heating and gas and coal for electricity. We can propose a tolling scheme and set a mutually beneficial price for electricity,' - notes Romanenko.
Romanenko sees the possibility of cooperation in electricity production, claiming that Transnistria has several free coal blocks and modern, highly efficient gas blocks. This creates favorable conditions for cooperation in the energy sector.
'We can make a deal. For this, we need to propose a tolling scheme and set an electricity price that will satisfy us and Moldova. We do not know where to build distribution generation capacities, Odessa needs electricity. We should not silence them. It is important to act immediately, before Russia connects to the gas. The separatists are special in this matter, they work in Chisinau and have Moldovan passports. They cannot just be deceived through television. Immediate actions are necessary,' - emphasizes Romanenko.
Romanenko believes that this plan will not only strengthen the positions of Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania in the region, but also reduce Russian influence in Transnistria due to a new economic reality.
The expert also points out the possibilities for the development of renewable energy in the region, including the construction of wind and solar power plants, which will provide additional electricity production in Transnistria.
