The AFU operation in Kursk affected Russian plans along the entire front line – ISW.

Ukrainian forces did not allow Russia to attack the Sumy region, stopping it in the Kursk region. This significantly affected Russia's ability to conduct further offensive operations in the north of Ukraine. This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War.
According to an interview with Oleksandr Syrskyi, the goal of the Ukrainian operation was to prevent Russia from using the Kursk region as a base for attacks on Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces also forced the Russian command to transfer their troops to the Kursk region to respond to the actions of Ukrainian forces. Special units of the airborne forces were transferred to this area. According to analysts' estimates, if Ukrainian forces decide to defend the captured territories, the Russian military will not be able to dislodge them.
There was also a relocation of Russian troops from Pokrovsk to the Kursk region, which also indicates problems with the Russian command in Ukraine.
According to analysts, the loss of Russian control over the initiative in Ukraine causes serious difficulties for their further offensive operations. The movement of troops to the Kursk region also deprives Russia of resources for future offensives in Ukraine. This will weaken their overall military potential.
