Shelling of Ukraine and the Need for Air Defense - Zelensky's Address.


As a result of the Russian attack on Ukraine on the night of July 21, efforts are ongoing throughout the day to eliminate the consequences of enemy strikes. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening video address on July 21 reported damage in various regions of the country, from Kharkiv and Sumy to Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as heavy shelling of Kyiv. A significant number of drones and missiles were shot down.

'And each such wave of Russian strikes reminds us of two things. We need more air defense systems and our long-range strikes on Russia. Everyone working to protect lives and limit Russia's potential in the war is working towards achieving peace' - emphasized the president.
Zelensky thanked all partners who are imposing stronger sanctions against Russia, including secondary restrictions. He stressed that these sanctions are severely harming the Russian economy. The president called on Russia to end the war it started, noting that it will inevitably conclude in peace.
It should be noted that earlier Zelensky identified the key topic for the upcoming negotiations with Russia in Istanbul - the exchange of prisoners. It has also become known that Russia confirmed its readiness for the third round of negotiations with Ukraine, stating the unchanged composition of its delegation.
Ukraine continues to eliminate the consequences of enemy strikes while President Zelensky calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and the exchange of prisoners in future negotiations with Russia.
