Norway significantly strengthens its military capabilities: F-35 and JSM missiles.

On Monday, April 28, the Norwegian military will have an important day, which will include two events - the inauguration of two new F-35 fighter jets and the delivery of the first Joint Strike Missile (JSM).
According to representatives of Norway's defense ministry, the combination of new fighter jets and long-range JSM missiles will greatly enhance the combat capabilities of the Norwegian military, reports Defense Express.
With the new missiles, 'Norway can strike targets such as military ships, radars, and command centers at great distances without the help of allies,' said the head of the Norwegian Air Force Logistics Command, Brigadier General Yarle Nergår.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the JSM missile allows full utilization of the F-35 fighter's potential, as it can be launched from inside the aircraft. The main advantage lies in its effectiveness against modern air defense systems.
The Joint Strike Missile (JSM) cruise missiles were developed by the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and the American Raytheon Missiles & Defense. The missile weighs 416 kg, including a 120 kg warhead. Its length is 4 meters. The missile can hit targets at distances ranging from 185 to 555 kilometers depending on the launch altitude.
The completion of the delivery of the new F-35 fighter jets and the arrival of the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) are important steps for the Norwegian military. This will significantly enhance the country's defense capabilities and make it independent of allies' assistance in striking military targets at great distances. The delivery of the JSM missile is a huge step forward in realizing the potential of the F-35 fighters and enhancing Norway's security. In the future, this may also affect the tension in the region, as Norway will be able to effectively act against potential threats on its territory and within its interests.
