Germany announced the transfer of two IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine by Christmas.


Ukraine will receive air defense systems from Germany. These will be the IRIS-T short and medium-range systems - SLM and SLS. This is reported by Rp.pl.
Recently, the head of the special staff for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, Major General Christian Freuding, stated that these air defense systems would be delivered to Ukraine by Christmas.
Freuding also added that Germany’s support for Ukraine will continue after Christmas, as well as after February 23 - the day of the federal elections in Germany.
This is not the first Time Germany has provided military assistance to Ukraine. It has previously supplied artillery howitzers, tanks, and Marder APCs, as well as launched a drone strikes program.
In particular, the German government has developed an action plan in case of war, which includes possible evacuation of the population and mandatory service for conscripts. Additionally, German lawmakers want the country to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
Ukraine's security is a priority for Germany. Therefore, the German armed forces are also negotiating with businesses to prepare for a possible conflict with Russia.
