Repairs at the border with Poland will limit the movement of passenger cars

Starting April 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, reconstruction works will begin at the 'Shehyni' checkpoint, as reported by the press center of the State Border Guard Service.

“As a result, the exit from Ukraine for passenger vehicles will be limited. In particular, one of the lanes for outbound traffic will not be operational, which may lead to the formation of queues,” the message states.

Ukrainians are advised to plan their routes in advance and, if possible, choose less busy checkpoints: Rava-Ruska, Hrusheva, Ugryniv, Smilnytsia, Nyzhankovychi.

The repair work is expected to last until May 10.

The Ukrainian government plans to upgrade 29 border checkpoints and build 17 new ones by 2030, said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Recently, a new checkpoint 'Velyka Palad' - Nad'hodosh' was opened at the border with Hungary, which operates for automobile and passenger communication. It is expected that within a year, 'Velyka Palad' will increase the border's capacity by 73 thousand passenger cars and 220 thousand pedestrians.
