US Treasury Secretary acknowledges Putin as a war criminal
During a hearing in Congress, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent answered affirmatively when asked whether he considers Russian leader Vladimir Putin a war criminal.
Scott Bessent made this statement during the hearing in Congress. In response to a direct question about whether he considers Putin a war criminal, Bessent replied: 'Yes.'
Referring to the possibility of negotiating with Putin, the Treasury Secretary expressed his view:
'I think that is the nature of diplomacy, when you have to negotiate with both sides. I believe negotiations were necessary with the Japanese after World War II,' Scott Bessent stated.
