During the forum 'Modernization of the Hospital Network in Ukraine', Deputy Minister of Health Ihor Kuzin emphasized the importance of creating a resilient and patient-oriented model for the healthcare system. The Ministry of Health focuses on implementing European standards of quality and safety, as well as adapting mechanisms and protocols to the Ukrainian situation.
'The Ministry of Health implements standards that correspond to European levels of quality and safety, adapting existing mechanisms and protocols to the realities of today, and this process is impossible without close cooperation with regions, hospitals, and the medical community,' Kuzin stressed.According to the Ministry of Health, 106 hospital clusters have already been created, uniting 2537 primary medical care centers, 282 general hospitals, 166 cluster hospitals, 135 super-cluster hospitals, and 25 emergency medical assistance centers. The healthcare reform, initiated by Law No. 2347 and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 174, is aimed at creating a viable network of medical institutions. Due to military actions, some regions are currently not participating in the reform, but after the end of martial law, they will have the opportunity to submit their proposals for improving the healthcare system within the next 6 months. During the forum, important aspects of modernizing hospitals in Ukraine were discussed, in particular the implementation of European standards and cooperation with regions and the medical community. The healthcare reform aims to improve the accessibility and quality of medical services across the country.
