The most tourists arrived in the Maldives from China - about 260 thousand, in second place are the Russians with nearly 220 thousand tourists. The country has 174 resorts, 855 mini-hotels, and 15 large hotels.
'This year many records were set in the history of the country. The highest number of tourists arrived in February of this year - 217 thousand. Never before has there been so many guests in a month. This year also marks the fastest achievement of the milestone of 1 million tourists,' said the Minister of Tourism of the Maldives, Ibrahim Faisal.
According to the minister, next year the Maldives plans to grow by 15% and attract at least 2.2 million vacationers to the islands.
Vacation options in the Maldives during the off-season (from March to October) will cost tourists from 4 thousand euros per week per person.
The national resort of Thailand, Phuket, also broke records for villa sales, with Russians being the main buyers. This has led to unprecedented growth in the real estate market on the island in the first half of 2024.
We remind you that Russians are massively leaving the popular Turkish resort.
