Artist, volunteer, and fighter of the Third Assault Brigade. Let's remember Margarita Polovinko.

Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of those who died in the war. Today we pay tribute to Margarita Polovinko.
Margarita Polovinko, known as a fighter of the Third Assault Brigade under the nickname Margo, a volunteer and Ukrainian artist, was killed at the front on April 5, 2025. This was reported by 'Glavcom', citing the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture and the Second Mechanized Battalion of the 3rd OAAB.
The battalion noted: 'You did not fear responsibility, always kept your word, and did more than was required of you. You died while performing a combat mission. Dignified. With a weapon in hand.'
Margarita Polovinko was born on March 24, 1994, in Kryvyi Rih. She studied at the Dnipro Theater and Art College from 2012 to 2015, specializing in 'Easel Painting'. Later, she graduated from the National Academy of Arts with the same specialization.
In childhood and adolescence, Margarita swam and dreamed of big sports, but heart problems forced her to focus on another hobby - painting.
Margarita was caught by the full-scale invasion in Turkey while searching for a job. After returning to Ukraine, she began volunteering. In 2024, Margarita became a volunteer paramedic and was engaged in the evacuation of the wounded. Later, she officially joined the Third Assault Brigade.
Margarita said that she began to paint a lot at the beginning of the full-scale invasion when she learned about the deaths of children in Irpin. She painted a girl flying over houses, struck by this cruel world. She described the Russians as monsters who came to fight against people.
Previously, Margarita Polovinko painted Kryvyi Rih and people on the brink of a post-industrial society. She sold these works at auctions to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Under the influence of war, Margo began to paint with blood and semi-dried ballpoint pens to convey the physical pain of the new reality.
Gallery blockMargarita mentioned that it was a technique of tracing. She tried to complicate the painting process to convey the physical tension and effort with which the painting was created.
Margarita died at the front on April 5, 2025. She often heard over the radio; she was an FPV pilot of the second Mechbat of our brigade, the Third Assault Brigade, wrote Lesya Hanzha about Margarita Polovinko.
The artist was buried in her native Kryvyi Rih on April 11 at the central cemetery on the Alley of Glory.
'Glavcom' joins in a moment of silence, honoring the memory of all Ukrainians who died for the Motherland. We remember those who died at the hands of Russian invaders and light candles in memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine: military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died in the struggle against Russian occupiers and due to the attack of enemy troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
