J.D. Vance refused to call Putin an enemy.

The U.S. Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance refused to call the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin an enemy. Additionally, he called for negotiations with the Russian Federation.

In particular, the journalist asked Vance whether he sees Putin as an ally or an enemy, to which the Republican said he is a competitor.

"I think he is clearly an adversary. He's a competitor. I believe that we also have to be smart about diplomacy. Just because someone doesn't like us, it doesn't mean we can't have a conversation with them from Time to time," he stated.

Also during the interview, he emphasized that negotiations with the Russian Federation are an integral part of ending the war in Ukraine.

"I think it is important, if we are ever going to end the war in Ukraine, fundamentally, at some level, we will have to engage in certain negotiations between Ukraine, between Russia, between our NATO allies in Europe. And that's just a necessary part," the Republican noted.

Earlier, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, Senator J.D. Vance, made a new statement about the war in Ukraine. In particular, he expressed his opinion on territorial concessions, specifically whether Ukraine will have to make them.

"I honestly believe that Ukrainians will have to make that decision themselves," he said.
