The share of Americans who view Russia as an enemy has fallen to its lowest level.

The American attitude towards Russia has changed after the war with Ukraine
According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, the number of Americans who consider Russia their enemy is decreasing. Currently, only 50% of respondents hold this view, which is the lowest level since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In April 2024, this figure was 61%, and in March 2022 it was 70%.
Among Republican voters, the softening of attitudes towards Russia has been significantly greater. 40% of them consider Russia an enemy, compared to 58% last year and 69% in March 2022. In total, 34% of Americans see Russia as a competitor to the U.S., while only 9% view it as a partner.
This change in sentiment is associated with shifts in U.S. policy and diplomacy towards Russia and Ukraine during Donald Trump's presidency.
At the same Time, most Americans do not trust Russian President Vladimir Putin. Only 12% of Americans believe in his ability to do the right things regarding world affairs. Meanwhile, 49% of Americans trust Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his ability to make correct decisions.
Additionally, 47% of Americans are very or extremely concerned about Russia's invasion of other countries, while 43% are worried about a possible takeover of Ukraine. However, Republicans have become less concerned in recent months, while Democrats, on the contrary, have become more concerned - this was added in the original.
Nevertheless, Donald Trump believes there is a possibility to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
It is also worth noting that Donald Trump's rating among the American population has significantly decreased. Only 42% of Americans view his actions positively, which is down by 1% compared to previous poll results. This indicates a threat to his popularity among Americans.
