British woman lied to her husband and pretended to be pregnant: what decision the court made.

A British citizen who falsely informed her partner twice that she was pregnant has been sentenced to six months in prison. This was reported by The Guardian, citing 'Glavcom'.
At the magistrate's court in Workington, Libby Vernon was sentenced to six months in prison after being found guilty on 10 counts related to sending false messages.
23-year-old Libby Vernon from Staffordshire complained to her new online friend about supposed abuse from her ex-boyfriend and said she was pregnant with his child. She also suggested raising the child together, claiming that she owned property bought on a loan. Later, the girl reported that one of the fetuses had stopped developing.
In December 2023, Libby sent her partner a photo of a child dressed in a white cap, commenting, 'Someone wants to meet you.' She sent him pictures of the child - in a car seat, in a crib, and even sent him a 'feverish message' that the child had stopped breathing. She claimed that both of them had been hospitalized, but the child had died.
In February 2024, the couple's relationship became even more serious, and Libby informed her partner that she was pregnant again, this Time with twins. The man believed this information and purchased a new home for his future family. They even held a party where they learned they were expecting twin boys. The man said that Libby avoided showing him her belly, explaining that it looked unfortunate.
The deception was revealed when the girl appeared in the maternity ward with a fake belly.
The victim stated that Libby's deception had greatly affected him and his family, who were preparing for the birth of the child. He even moved out of his mother's house and renovated a house for himself and Libby to live with their children.
In a statement read in court by the victim, he said: 'I thought I would become a father, and I changed my life to be ready for this.'
It is noteworthy that in Lodz a woman was placed in a psychiatric hospital after she reported planning to have an abortion late in her pregnancy.
